From 2015-2022, Mr. Sanzo was Managing Director at Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, New York Branch (ICBC), where he was Head of US Commercial Real Estate Finance. There he managed a multi-billion-dollar loan investment portfolio. ICBC is the largest bank in the world by assets. Mr. Sanzo was named one of the Top 50 Most Important Figures in Commercial Real Estate Finance by the publication Commercial Observer in 2016, 2017, 2018 and again in 2019.
Mr. Sanzo has over three decades of experience in managing, originating, investing and financing commercial real estate properties, directly and indirectly in real estate projects worth over $ 50 Billion. Previously, he was Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Portfolio Management at Commerzbank A.G., where he was in charge of managing and restructuring a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of loans and equity investments. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director in charge of Real Estate Finance at Banque Indosuez, and he also worked as a predecessor to JPMorgan Chase Bank.
He has also worked in the Fund industry, investing in securities throughout the capital structure for public and private commercial real estate entities. He was the Managing Board Director for two closed-end real estate investment funds based in the Netherlands.
Additionally, he served as President of Conference Center Interests Inc., a company organized on behalf of several foreign institutional equity partners. He has also worked and lived in Singapore and Australia.
He was a former Board Director of the Association of Foreign Investors in U.S. Real Estate, and he is a member of ARES. He has also authored several published articles about Commercial Real Estate Investments and Finance; and appears regularly on many real estate industry conference panels.
Mr. Sanzo is also currently serving on the Board of Directors of Hampton Hall Club, Inc.
He holds a B.A. from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY and an M.B.A. from the Thunderbird School Division of Arizona State University.
